International

The Centre has developed an extensive international network of experts in mental health, with a particular reputation for service innovation and commitment to user participation. This expertise has over recent years facilitated the development and implementation of the National Service Framework, though we have also given opportunities for less mainstream innovators and critical voices within psychiatry.

Centre staff also work abroad, including consultancy for the World Health Organisation, as major contributors to the improvement of mental health services in developing countries. This work involves working along other UK based expertise to support local teams to develop culturally appropriate services, and develop capacity for independent development.
